De prachtige flora en fauna, waanzinnige uitzichtpunten en heerlijke hikes maken het tot een must do activiteit in Mauritius. Er is ontzettend veel te zien en doen in het Black River Gorges National Park dus trek er zeker een dag voor uit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het leukste is om een scooter te huren en een dag rond te cruisen door de bossen en over de bergen. Ben je geen held op de scooter? Dan kan je ook een auto huren, of een tour boeken waarbij je met de taxi naar alle mooie plekken wordt gebracht. Je hebt dan wel iets minder de vrijheid om overal zo lang te stoppen als je maar wil. Het is aan te raden om een dagdeel uit te trekken voor de activiteiten in Chamarel, die we hieronder verder beschrijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-chamarel-7-coloured-earth\">6. Chamarel 7 coloured Earth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een echte toeristentrekpleister is de 7 coloured earth omgeving in Chamarel, in het zuidwesten van Mauritius. Door een chemische verwering van vulkanisch gesteente is de aarde hier gesplitst in allerlei verschillende bijzondere kleuren.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wij hadden van tevoren hele lage verwachtingen voor deze plek maar uiteindelijk vonden wij het hartstikke leuk om gezien te hebben. Dit kwam ook door de gigantische landschildpadden die in het park worden gehouden, wat echt heel bijzonder is als je dit nog nooit hebt gezien. De toegang voor het Chamarel 7 coloured Earth kost 650 Mauritiaanse roepie (\u20ac13) en hiermee kan je ook de Chamarel waterval bezoeken. Het is een spektakel om te zien hoe deze 100 meter hoge waterval een constante stroom aan water laat vallen. In dit adventure park kan je ziplinen, een via ferrata lopen, boogschieten en mooi hiken. Om bij het adventure park te komen moet je over de toegangsweg voor de 7 coloured earth rijden. Als je bij de entree aangeeft dat je voor het adventure park hoeft, hoef je geen entreeticket voor de 7 coloured earth te kopen. Je kan vervolgens bij het adventure park betalen voor de activiteiten die je wil doen. Relax een dagje bij een luxe resort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heb je even genoeg van alle activiteiten in Mauritius? Ga dan een dag ultiem relaxen bij een luxe resort. Veel resorts op Mauritius bieden toegang aan voor dag gasten. Je betaalt dan +\/- \u20ac70 per persoon en voor dat geld mag je de hele middag op het resort liggen, bji het zwembad en (bij bijna alle resorts) onbeperkt drinken en lunchen van het buffet. Wij hebben dit een dag gedaan bij Alma in Belle Mare en dit was zo erg genieten!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/deals.mu\/hotel-day-packages-deals-mauritians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Via deze website<\/a> kan je alle resorts vergelijken, de prijzen zien en beschikbaarheid. Hiken bij Le Pouce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vlakbij de hoofdstad van Mauritius Port Louis vind je de berg Le Pouce. Je kan hier prachtig wandelen en vanaf de berg heb je een waanzinnig uitzicht over de stad en de zee. Ga alleen wandelen bij Le Pouce in Mauritius als het (langer dan 24 uur) droog is. Het wordt anders glibberig en glad en dit is erg gevaarlijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"11-tamarind-falls-7-waterfall-hike\">11. Tamarind Falls ~ 7 Cascades hike<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nog een gave hike in Mauritius is de Tamarind Falls wandeling waarbij je naar 13 watervallen kan wandelen. Het is wel een pittige wandeling met flink wat klimmen en klauteren door de jungle. Daarnaast is de route niet goed aangegeven, dus houd de App Alltrails bij de hand zodat je de route op je telefoon goed kan volgen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wanneer je naar het startpunt toe rijdt staan er veel locals langs de kant die zeggen dat je een gids nodig hebt. Wij zouden adviseren om de gids van tevoren al te regelen via Trekking Mauritius. Deze gidsen zijn gekwalificeerd, ontzettend informatief en hartstikke gezellig. Je kan kiezen voor de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trekkingmauritius.com\/tour\/hiking-tamarind-falls\/?aff=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow sponsored\">Half Day wandeling<\/a> waar je naar 5 van de 13 watervallen gaat, deze hike duurt 3 uur. Bezoek de hoofdstad Port Louis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heb je tijd over in Mauritius? Dan kan het interessant zijn om de hoofdstad Port Louis te bezoeken. Het is wat ons betreft zeker geen must do, maar op een minder mooie dag kan het wel leuk zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Port Louis is dagelijks een leuke lokale markt (de Central Market), waar het ontzettend druk is en je het dagelijks leven van de Mauritianen goed kan zien. Daarnaast is het Waterfront een leuke plek om lekker te struinen in de leuke boutique shops. Wij hebben hier leuke (dodo) souvenirs gekocht en prachtige sieraden. Ga niet naar de dierentuin Casela<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wat je vooral niet moet doen op Mauritius is de dierentuin Casela bezoeken. Op posters zal je de slogan zien \u2018as wild as life gets\u2019 met op de foto toeristen die naast gedrogeerde leeuwen poseren. Hier is natuurlijk niets \u2018wilds\u2019 aan, dit is alleen maar ontzettend schadelijk en dierenmishandeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bezoek Casela daarom niet tijdens je reis op Mauritius zodat je dit niet in stand houdt. De dieren zitten opgesloten in ontzettend kleine kooien en worden dus ook gedrogeerd zodat toeristen hiermee op de foto kunnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"14-geniet-natuurlijk-van-de-prachtige-stranden-op-mauritius\">14. Geniet natuurlijk van de prachtige stranden op Mauritius<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Als je het hebt over wat te doen in Mauritius dan kunnen de stranden natuurlijk niet ontbreken. Vanuit elke plek op het eiland zijn er leuke stranden te vinden, de een nog mooier dan de ander. Het eten in Mauritius<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het eten in Mauritius is verbazingwekkend lekker. Dit komt door de verrassende combinatie van de Franse en Indiase keuken. Door de Franse invloeden zijn er veel goede bakkerijen te vinden met verse croissants en stokbroden. In de supermarkt vind je ook goede Franse kazen die nog lekkerder smaken op zo\u2019n vers stokbrood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daarnaast zijn er dus ook veel Indiase invloeden in Mauritius die ervoor zorgen dat je ontzettend lekker kan dineren.
