Bangalore is the third-largest city in India. Only Mumbai and Delhi are larger in area and population. Yet there are few sights to be found in this mega-city. Therefore, we describe below what you can do in one day in Bangalore.
Content of this blog:
Palace of Bangalore
Start your day at Bangalore’s palace. Every few weeks you will find a different exhibition here, many weddings are organized and you will find concerts too. The palace and surrounding gardens are a beautiful sight in the middle of the city.
Summer Palace of the Tipoe Sultan
After your visit to the normal palace, take the tuktuk to the summer palace of the Tipoe Sultan. You pay 20 rupees to enter and enjoy the beauty of this place. The entire area around the summer palace is well maintained. It’s a fun activity in Bangalore for just under an hour, then you’ve seen it.
Tip: use the cab apps uber, ola or rapido. That way you don’t have to negotiate the price and you are dropped off at the right address.
After your visit to the summer palace, look for a tasty lunch. Because it is such a large city, you will find various Northern and Southern Indian specialties. In every neighborhood and every street you can find a nice place where all the locals eat standing, then you know it’s really good food.

Enjoy a Fun Afternoon
After a delicious local lunch, it’s time to do something active. Take the tuktuk to Torq03 and prepare for a real fun afternoon in Bangalore. When you arrive at Torq03, you must first buy a card that you put credit on. This can only be done per 1000 rupees excluding 18% VAT. After this, you register at the tablet. Then you get a band and are ready to explore the fun activities, including:
- Carting
- Bowling
- Laser tag
- Axe master
- Laser maze

There is also a full arcade with the fun associated games. Examples include basketball throwing and air field hockey. It’s super fun to see how fanatical the Indians are and how they go full-on into the games. Afterwards, you can buy something small from the collected tickets, a snicker for example.
There is also a restaurant at Torq03 where you can enjoy a drink in the sunshine. This is the perfect activity if you are looking for action and fun.

VV Puram Food Street
End the day at VV Puram Food Street. This 150-meter-long street has more than 25 food stalls serving a variety of dishes. Not only is it a popular spot for tourists, it is also a beloved spot for locals. Be sure to be at VV Puram Food Street around 8 p.m. to enjoy a cozy meal among Indians.

Where to stay in Bangalore?
Bangalore has many different neighborhoods. If you’re looking for hip stores and fine restaurants, Indiranagar is the place to be. We ourselves stayed at the Locul.Midtown Hostel in Indiranagar and can recommend it to anyone. The hostel is clean, social and something fun is organized almost daily in the evening. Especially for digital nomads, it is the place to be because it has many good workplaces.
If you’re looking for crowds, MG Road is the place to be. This is one of the oldest streets in Bangalore. You notice that MG Road is modernizing. You can find many bars here these days and it is the place to go out.
Right in the center of Bangalore you will find the amazing Olive Richmond Circle where you get a beautiful room with great service for a very affordable price.
How to get to Bangalore?
From the Netherlands you can fly, with a change of plane, to Bangalore. For tickets, check Skyscanner. If you want to go to Bangalore from Mysore, you can go by train. The train takes 2.5 hours. Just coming from Hampi or Goa? Then you can travel by the 12-hour bus to Bangalore. All tickets can be booked in advance through 12GO.Asia.
