Malaysia is a tropical country. With the warm temperatures, after visiting hot cities, it is also time to relax at a beach destination. The ideal place for this is the Pangkor Laut Resort. Here you imagine yourself spending a few days in luxury in the most beautiful place in all of Malaysia.

How do you get to the Pangkor Laut Resort?
From Kuala Lumpur, you can take a direct bus to Lumut from the TBS bus station. In advance, you can easily buy your bus tickets through 12GO.Asia. You can read all the information about the TBS station here. From Lumut, you easily grab a Grab to the Marina Jetty pier. Here is a separate building of the Pangkor Laut Resort. You register here and then you are taken to the boat. The boat sails every whole hour (you will also get information about this from the resort).
If you are coming to the Pangkor Laut Resort from anywhere else in Malaysia, it is best to check on 12GO.Asia to see which bus goes to Lumut. Also read all the information about transportation in Malaysia.
What to do in Pangkor Laut Resort
The Pangkor Laut Resort has built beautiful cottages for your ultimate enjoyment. The decoration of each cottage has been well thought out and the view from here is also perfect.
This allows you to relax and enjoy the sun at the resort. You do this, for example, at the beautiful infinity pool which is located directly on the beach. You can also be taken by transfer van to the other side of the island where there is a large, beautiful beach.
Fortunately, when you have had enough of relaxing, there are also many fun activities on the island of the Pangkor Laut Resort. So you can play tennis, use the gym, canoe and supp. If you want to be completely pampered, you can book packages at the Spa Village such as extensive massages and manicures. At the Spa Village, you can also take a yoga class and a massage course. There is plenty to do at the resort and on the beautiful island.
Best travel time Malaysia and Pangkor Laut Resort
In general, the best travel time for Malaysia is March through October. The rainy season officially begins from November, but it can sometimes begin as early as late September or October. Because the climate has changed in recent years, the weather is also more difficult to predict.
Cost Pangkor Laut Resort
Such a beautiful resort obviously comes with a price tag. The ordinary backpacker will probably not choose to stay here but if you are willing to spend a some more money for a few nights, or when you have something to celebrate, the Pangkor Laut Resort is the ideal destination. For current overnight prices, check booking.com.
It is also important to note that the boat trip is not included in the price. This will still cost you €80 with 2 people for the trip to the resort and back. Breakfast is included with the room. This is a huge buffet with something tasty for everyone. From fresh waffles, pancakes, croissants and sandwiches to nasi lemak, noodles and fruit. Lunch and dinner are not included in the price. For dinner, you have 3 choices:
- Fisherman’s Cove. This is an upscale restaurant on the cliff. From here you have spectacular views of the sea and nearby Pangkor Island. The price of the dishes here is slightly higher but you’re paying mostly for the experience. On Thursdays, Fisherman’s Cove is closed.
- Unce Lim’s Kitchen. This is a Chinese restaurant that serves tasty dishes but (almost) nothing vegetarian. We therefore did not eat here.
- Feast Village. This is the largest restaurant. This is also where you have breakfast. Every evening there is a buffet, with a variety of dishes. This was so delicious that each time we looked forward to eating here in the evening. The price for the buffet is 120 RM (€25) per person. Tip: if you indicate that you eat vegetarian, you can get 50% off for the buffet “because they don’t have that much vegetarian”. On the other hand, we were able to eat a lot of vegetarian food so that 50% discount was nice.
What we really liked to see was that there are hornbills everywhere on the island. They sit at your table, fly over the pool and even sit in front of your cabin. They are truly beautiful birds to see from so close.
Continue your Malaysia tour after Pangkor to the Cameron Highlands where you can enjoy active hiking or the street food capital of Malaysia: Penang. All bus tickets can be easily seen and booked on 12GO.Asia.
