This is a very clean hostel with a super nice retro design. Great thought has gone into the layout and colors of the hostel. It sits in a central location, near the Boh Tea center and several stores. Because there are no dorms, the hostel is a little less social than the other two. Still, sometimes this is nice too of course 🙂

This is such a wonderful place in the Cameron Highlands! Traveller bunker hostel is a super social hostel where you are sure to meet a lot of nice travelers. The staff provides entertaining evenings with Netflix and games, and they provide lots of information about the Cameron Highlands. There is also a kitchen where you can make yourself some food!

Homy Seafront
From the hostel you have a great view of Kota Kinabalu harbor. It is a very social hostel, partly because of the nice common areas, where you can enjoy Netflix with others or play games. Self-service breakfast is included in the price and you may grab coffee, tea, water and snacks throughout the day. A top hostel in a top location!

This hostel is another great choice in Kota Kinabalu. It is one of the cleanest hostels. The staff is very friendly and will help you with your trip through Borneo or organizing the Mount Kinabalu tour. In the common areas there is a pool and foosball table making it easy to get to know others. There is also a rooftop bar on the 6th floor!

Super centrally located in Kota Kinabalu is the Vibrant hostel. The owner and staff are SO friendly! If you need anything or have questions about anything they are always there for you and they can take care of everything for you. Really nice. The kitchen is also very clean and nice to be able to cook your own meals for once. Even though there are plenty of restaurants nearby where you can eat for a few ringgit 🙂

This social hostel is mega central in Langkawi. A 2-minute walk from Cenang beach and down the street with all the restaurants and stores. Attached to the hostel is also a bar where, especially on weekends, some people come to party. The location is perfect: right in the center and near a very nice club to go out. Fortunately, you don’t hear any of this at night when you’re asleep; it’s nice and quiet in the room.

In this hostel, it feels like coming home. The owners are very hospitable and let you use everything: washing machine, kitchen. There is also a small pool and it is very centrally located in Cenang, the place to be in Langkawi. The price of the dorm is also bizarrely low, you get a lot of value for your money here!

Yote 28
At this hostel, you get your own capsule. This way you have some extra privacy and space, very nice! Furthermore, there is a super nice common room with lots of games to get to know other travelers. The hostel looks, yet also important haha, super nice and luxurious! Furthermore, Yote 28 is within walking distance of all the highlights of Melaka. One of the best hostels with an average rating of 9.5!

Ola hostel is literally next to Melaka’s main street: Jonker street. The owner Sam is super nice and you can ask him anything. The hostel also looks cozy and green because of all the plants. A nice place to stay in Melaka!

The capsule you sleep in is very comfortable and you don’t hear any ambient noise. Very nice to have a good deep sleep! The hostel is near a cafe so you can get a nice cup of coffee first thing in the morning 🙂

Hostels in Penang & Georgetown
Great Shanghai
This is described as the best hostel in Georgetown. The location is right in the center and the host, Wilson, gives such great tips for activities in Penang! He also knows exactly where to eat the best food (which Penang is famous for) and you will never go to bed hungry because of this haha. The hostel is well kept clean and it is just a really nice place with sweet and warm people!

The location of 111 Hutton Lane is very good, in the center of Georgetown. Finding the hostel can be tricky the first time. Tip: clearly request the Google Maps location in advance via booking from the host. Furthermore, it is a cozy hostel and the owner’s cats are very sweet and cute.

This hostel has a common room but it is not always much used. Because of this, it is not the most social hostel. Other than that, it does have a good central location, near the jetties. On the top floor, you have a great view of all of Georgetown and Penang.
