It is not a mega social hostel because there are more double rooms than dorms. Still, it is often cozy. The beds in the dorm are hard though, but that is unfortunately common in Thailand.

The location of this hostel is also really perfect. Right in the center and no noise pollution at night. The hostel is well kept clean and every day you get a clean towel and blankets. It is a wonderful stay. The only downside is that the beds are fairly hard, as in many places in Thailand.

Wow this hostel is really beautiful. The pool which is directly adjacent to the beach gives an instant vacation feeling. It is a real social hostel where you feel at home from moment one. The dorms are also cozy. The only downside is that the overnight stay is on the expensive side. You do get quality and a beautiful place in return.

The location of the Kerton hostel is perfect. It is located right in the center of Lamai. Yet it is quiet and not noisy in the hostel. The dorm is cozy but fortunately you also have your own place with a curtain and a large locker that fits your backpack. It looks really nice inside. If you need anything, ask the staff. Described by solo travelers as the very best hostel on Koh Tao. It is very social, you meet other travelers very easily and there is a lovely rooftop terrace with pool. The beds are also really lovely. The location is perfect, near all the restaurants and bars and dive schools. Note: because it is such a nice hostel you have to book well (2 weeks) in advance otherwise there is often no place left.

This is the most beautiful hostel, in the middle of nature, where we have ever stayed. It looks so cozy and romantic and you really feel part of nature. It is a 5-minute walk from the city center so you have no noise pollution. If you do want to party and do fun things but want to wake up in peace, next to the trees, then it is really recommended to book here!

This is a beautiful hostel from the colonial era. It is right in the center, near the market. The staff is very nice and will help you book day tours. Also, the rooms AND bathrooms are spacious and super nice decorated. Truly a beautiful building. Anyway, it’s fun to walk around the area here because all the buildings are so beautiful.

This hostel is located in Phuket’s fine old town. This is where the most atmosphere is and where it feels relaxed. There is a very nice pool at the hostel and the best part is that in addition to the normal dorm and private rooms, there are also capsules you can sleep in.
