Local Indonesian food at a warung in Kuta Lombok
Local warungs can still be found everywhere here, fortunately. Some are tastier than others, so here are the best warungs in Kuta Lombok. These are also the most popular warungs where you will meet many fellow travelers.
Warung Bude
By far the best warung in Kuta Lombok that we have tried. The nasi campur and nasi kuning is phenomenal, what wonderful flavors you taste here. It is also super cheap and it is always full during lunch and dinner.
Felice’s Vegetarian Restaurant
Also for non-vegans a delicious warung in Kuta Lombok. Mainly local Indonesian food is recommended to order here, but the western dishes are also very good. Also this warung is very cheap so you might accidentally order a little too much….
Warung Flora
A slightly more expensive warung than the local spots, but definitely worth it. The flavors, smells and spices are fantastic and you sit here very cozy too! The vegetable curry and gado gado are our favorites.
Western breakfasts and lunches in Kuta Lombok
The coziest places to sit a little longer can be found at the nice breakfast and lunch spots. In Kuta Lombok there are many modern places where you can also get great freshly ground bean coffee (which is an exception in Asia). At many coffee shops you can also work if needed. Bush Radio
A trendy little place located right in the center. The coffee is very good and it is typically one of those places where you linger a little longer.
Munchies
Munchies has a delicious breakfast and lunch menu. After lunch, Munchies soon becomes deserted, which in turn is ideal if you still want to do something on your laptop. Especially the shakshuka and mashed avo are our favorite.
Milk Espresso
Secretly kind of our favorite of this list. It’s cozy, the staff is fun, and of course the food is also very good. Whether you go for the Greek Feast, Jammy Avo Egg or the ciabatta, it’s all delicious. They also have real fresh orange juice, delicious!
The Breakery
The Breakery is a really good bakery. The assortment consists of fantastic croissants and pain au chocolats with all kinds of toppings. You can also just order a nice sandwich here, or special sweet treats.
NOHI
At NOHI you can go for a delicious brunch. They have a special “big breakfast” where you get 1 breakfast dish, 1 coffee/tea, 1 smoothie and a (delicious) sweet treat. A nice place to sit a little longer and possibly play a game.
Western lunch and dinner restaurants in Kuta Lombok
There are also quite a few tasty restaurants in Kuta Lombok where you can enjoy lunch and dinner. From Asian to Mexican to Italian and Spanish, there is something for everyone.
Mama pizza: the best pizzeria on Lombok
One of the very best pizzas we ate (ever?!) was at Mama Pizza. The sourdough dough is fresh, the ingredients are good quality and the stone oven adds the finishing touch. We’ve come back here 4 times so that’s saying something… The pizzas are a little pricier than at other places, but it’s 100% worth it. The place is always very busy, so you may have to wait 10 / 20 minutes or so. If you come early (6 p.m.) or late (9 p.m.) you will find a spot easily, though.
Cantina Mexicana Kuta Lombok
A super cozy joint that is packed every night. Think Mexican music, fresh beers and fun decor. We did find the food here a little less delicious than the others: Mexican in Town.
The Mexican in Town
This is another really nice place. They often have a 30% off offer on regular sized burritos on Mondays (check with the staff to be sure). In any case, the vegan burrito is highly recommended!
Treehouse restaurant and bar
Right in the center of Kuta Lombok you will find this special restaurant. The Treehouse is actually built around a tree with a number of hanging swings and nice seating areas.
La Cabaña Lombok
Looking for a Spanish restaurant in Kuta Lombok? Then La Cabaña is the place to be. You’ll find all Spanish specialties on the menu here, including of course great paella. Monday is paella day, when you get a 30% discount on all paellas.
El Bazar Cafe & Restaurant
A Mediterranean restaurant in Kuta Lombok with delicious, small bites. Unfortunately there were not many vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu in 2024, but the quality is very good. It is also a cozy restaurant in Kuta Lombok to stay for a longer dinner.
KRNK Bar & Restaurant
Super cozy restaurant in Kuta Lombok that is full every night. The burgers and pizzas are the highlight of the menu and this is mainly due to the good quality of the ingredients.
Terra ~ Plant Based Food
A completely vegan restaurant in Kuta Lombok. Terra Plant Based Food has surprisingly delicious combinations of both Asian and Western dishes. And who doesn’t want to end the day with a vegan pie?
Oh! Crepes
Okay, this is not a restaurant but this recommendation is not to be missed. Oh! Crepes has really great tasting crepes, with special toppings. We went for the best seller: biscoff and Nutella and this is really phenomenally delicious.
