Canyoning in Dalat

Read the blog

Dalat is a great destination in Vietnam. It is located in the mountains so the climate is somewhat cooler. In addition, you can do many outdoor activities, including canyoning. In this article, we tell you everything you need to know in advance about canyoning in Dalat and what to bring with you.

What is canyoning?

Canyoning is a sport that involves walking, climbing, swimming and abseiling a river. You are properly secured while canyoneering and you are guided during the trip.

What will you do while canyoning in Dalat?

The canyoning tours in Dalat are as follows: at 08:15 you will be picked up at your accommodation. You will meet the instructors and the rest of the group. You drive about 15 minutes through the mountains to the nature reserve where you will canyon. Here you will be helped to put on your outfit. After that, you and the whole group will get an explanation of abseiling: how to hold on, where are you secured and how to stand? You will get all the answers at the instructional section. You also get to practice it right away with two abseils from a 6-meter high wall.

Once everyone has mastered it you hike to the first waterfall. Now the canyoning really begins! Once again, you will be explained here how to hold on and what to do at the end. One by one you then descend the waterfall. After this first adrenaline rush, you will abseil 3 more times, slide down a natural slide, enter a natural washer and jump off a 7-meter-high rock. In between, hike through streams and climb on rocks.

You will be at the end around 1:30 p.m. and will be taken back to the instructional area by van. Here you quickly change your clothes. Then the van will drive back to the Dalat where a delicious lunch will be waiting for you. Just in time because you are probably hungry at this point.
