When you start saving for your vacation or maybe even a world trip, it is good to know what an average daily budget for each country is. This way you can prepare yourself well for the costs in a country and know approximately how much you need to set aside in order to stay in a country for a period of time. Dive into our blog about the average daily budget by country.
Content of this blog:
All amounts do not include airfare to the country. The average daily budget per country includes the following costs:
- Accommodation
- Activities
- Food and drink
- Transportation (bus, boat, cab, train)
- Visa
- Other (SIM cards, sunscreen, shower gel, etc.)
Note, of course, that this always remains an average. It is often based on a trip of at least 3 weeks. This spreads the cost of the visa over more days. The average daily budget was compiled based on travelers who are in between backpackers and flashpackers. These are travelers who generally try to travel reasonably cheaply but do not skimp on cool activities and, in addition, do not always try to be in the very cheapest hostel.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing
What year was that?
I don’t know the prices for every country, but it cost me much more than that in France (125 EUR/day in 2024 in Paris) and much less than that in Brazil (30 EUR/day in March 2025 – the Brazilian Real was and still is very low). I am therefore a little surprised by your figures.
I travel solo basic/mid range. I usually stay in basic hotel but I do my best to avoid dormitories (This, of course, substantially increases costs for destinations like Paris.)
Thank you,
Jace
Hi Jace,
Thanks for your message! Of course the expenses are always depending on the traveler and even more on the activities you’re doing in a country. For example if you’re traveling mid budget in Brazil in nice guesthouses and touring through the Amazone it’s way more. This is just an average, based on our personal expenses and experience and all of our readers.
